What's Auditing All About?

You may have seen some of my posts where I talk about auditing, which is the Scientology term for counseling. If you every wondered what the **** I was talking about, you can check out the new Scientology web site (video site) cuz there's a video about auditing now.

It's in the section under "Scientologty beliefs." You can navigatge to it by going to "Beliefs and Practices" and clicking on "Basic Principles of Scientology." It's the video furthest to the right.

A religion for the 21st century: Scientology

Great story about Dianetics and Scientology in the North County Times!
What We Believe: The Church of Scientology
By: RUTH MARVIN WEBSTER - Staff Writer
Questions of faith and religion aren't usual topics of Hollywood buzz. Drug use, infidelity, weight and cosmetic surgical procedures are.But any tidbit about the Church of Scientology or its high-profile celebrity believers seem to be the exception, attracting attention at every turn.

First there was the controversy in Germany, which in December declared Scientology unconstitutional and banned it. Then there was the release of Andrew Morton's unauthorized biography of actor Tom Cruise, which coincided with the broadcast of a nine-minute video of Cruise extolling the virtues of the faith, viewed by millions of people around the world before it was pulled from YouTube.

But more than material for late-night talk hosts, the Church of Scientology is the belief system of more than 3.5 million Americans, including more than 18,000 people in the San Diego area, according to Dave Meyer, president of the Church of Scientology of San Diego.
Scientology has been called by some the only major new religion to emerge in the 20th century with no heritage from any mainstream Judeo-Christian faiths. Nor is it connected with the churches of Christian Science or Religious Science. Others, however, say Scientology is not a religion because of its methods, including the practice of charging for some of its services.
'We so respect him'
Scientology grew out of a best-selling book called "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health," published in 1950. The book includes a concept of God expressed as the urge toward existence as infinity or the supreme being.
The author of "Dianetics" was L. Ron Hubbard, a filmmaker, aviator, adventurer, photographer, philosopher and expert mariner. The founder of the Church of Scientology, he is considered a genius by his followers.
Among those followers are Kathy and Ed Marsh of Escondido. The library in their guesthouse is home to thousands of first edition and signed volumes, many written by Hubbard. The room also contains pieces of Hubbard memorabilia that Ed Marsh, a Scientologist since 1969, has collected over the years, such as a package of Hubbard's favorite Kool cigarettes and his early aviator helmet.
But Scientology is not about worshipping Hubbard, said Meyer, who has been the president of the Church of Scientology of San Diego for the last two years.
"We so respect him (Hubbard) for his deeds and accomplishments ... and for his caring factor," said Meyer.>>

Clear and Aesthetics

One of my favorite quotes from the Dianetics book goes as follows:

The glory and color of childhood vanishes as one progresses into later years. But the strange part of it is that htis glamour and beauty and sensitivity to life are not gone. They are encysted. one of the most remarkable experiences a Clear has is to find, in the process of therapy, that he is recovering appreciation of beauty in the world.

The Scientology Basics

The recently released Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health book was fascinating to read, I was riveted to it all the way through. For the first time I have a complete understanding of this vital technology.

I am on the book Science of Survival now, which is a total pleasure to read. My understanding of the different levels of the tone scale and how people manifest them is much higher.

I have noticed that reading these books has increased my understanding of myself and my own life as well, so my control and capabilities are steadily increasing.

Mr. David Miscavige has accomplished a tremendous achievement releasing the Basics of Scientology.

What is the Scope of Dianetics?

L. Ron Hubbard began the Dianetics book with a chapter titled "The Scope of Dianetics" with one of the most famous quotations of this book—one of my favorites:

"A science of mind is a goal which has engrossed thousands of generations of Man. Armies, dynasties and whole civilizations have perished for the lack of it. Rome went to dust for the want of it. China swims in blood for the need of it. And down in the arsenal is an atom bomb, its hopeful nose full-armed in ignorance of it."

Dianetics is just such a science of the Mind, and with the June release, by David Miscavige, of the new editions of all basic Dianetics & Scientology books and lectures, it has really come into its own.

And none too soon. The condition of our world is, if anything, far worse than that of 1950. Because added to the threat of nuclear annihilation, we have also managed in the intervening 57 years to destroy our environment, wipe out countless species, and invent or fail to contain (depending on whether you are a conspiracy theorist or not) AIDS, which is causing a genocide in Third World countries.

Anyone unwilling to simply stand by and watch this continue down at the breakneck speed at which it is traveling would do well to read Dianetics.

Dianetics Boston

I was happy to see Dianetics Boston promoting the film Dianetics the Evolution of a Science. It's a very well made, entertaining short film, that packs such an incredible message.

Dianetics is so simple yet so powerful, literally anyone who can read can pick it up and in a matter of hours learn how to help someone else and get help him/herself in return.

Dianetics and Emotion

It wasn't until I got well into Science of Survival in my study of the Scientology and Dianetics Basics that I realized how much this book follows on from Dianetics. Of course it would be obvious to anyone who looked at it, but I'd never read these books in chronological sequence before, and although Science of Survival has long been one of my favorite books, I didn't see that it had such an intimate relationship with Dianetics.

I had always wondered what it was that caused some people to pick up the mannerisms of others and act a bit like their own version of someone -- usually of one of their parents or the leader of their group or the boss at work, It puzzled me that they would sound like this person and move like him, etc. In reading one of the chapters in this book, not only did I understand this but I realized what can be done to help a person be himself and why that's important from a perspective a spiritual gains.

And one other point about these materials--when I heard David Miscavige describe the care that went into restoring these books to their original intended content I was impressed by all the work and care that went into it. But when I started reading Science of Survival that turned into awe, not just for the work Mr. Miscavige and the Sea Organization put into doing this (the religious order of the Scientology religion) but for Ron. I always loved this book, but now it is incredible how easy it is to understand and how much I'm getting out of it. I look forward to the time I get to study my books every day.

Feeling Grumpy?

Ever feel grumpy for no good reason?

I used to have a friend who was just not worth talking to before 10:30 in the morning. In fact I learned that if I wanted to avoid a nasty fight it was best to pretend I didn't know her until noon. When I forgot to carry that out I was always sorry.

It wasn't till I read Dianetics that I finally understood what was going on with her. It's really simple, actually. But you have to read the book to get it. (And, by the way, for anyone who read the book before wait till you read the new edition, released last month by David Miscavige as part of the Scientology Basics. It's SO much easier to read with the way they have typeset and presented it. And the glossary is fabulous).

I see people getting into fights sometimes and wonder what my life would be like without having read this book. It's such a relief to understand simple things like that. Makes me feel so much more stable.

Dianetics

Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health has been released with the rest of the Basic Books and Lectures of L. Ron Hubbard. This book is intensely interesting and the technology given in it unquestionably is needed by every person.

Mr. David Miscavige is greatly appreciated for his care and hard work in making these materials available.

Where Did the Joy Go?

Here's something that really struck me while reading Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health (the new edition released last month by David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center).

"The glory and color of childhood vanishes as one progresses into later years. But the strange part of it is that this glamour and beauty and sensitivity to life are not gone. They are encysted. One of the most remarkable experiences a Clear has is to find, in the process of therapy, that he is recovering appreciation of the beauty in the world."

Those "helpful" voices in your head are a hidden menace

"I know I can't do this," or "He couldn't be interested in someone like me," or "Damn it, what's wrong with me? Why did I say that," and even worse "I know I'll never get over this," "I'm such a dumb f**k".... Sound too familiar?

Even if you never hear this kind of thing rattling around your head, and you just sometimes think out loud or talk to yourself when you're in a tight spot, you might be surprised to find out that these "helpful" voices are actually a hidden menace too, cutting down your own drive and intelligence.

On page 107 of the new edition of Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health, (released in late June/early July by David Miscavige ) L. Ron Hubbard explains how these mental "circuits" are set up and how they parasite off your own native horsepower.

Law of Affinity

Here's one of my favorite quotes from Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health.

"Man must be in affinity with Man to survive."

May sound idealistic, but it is nonetheless true. It is also a commentary on the human condition in an abberrated state (a state characterized by departure from rationality). But do you have any idea how many wars are being carried on even as I write and you read this posting?

Goes back to the reason I say Dianetics is so important, and another of my favorite quotes from this book

"Man's primary fight is not with Man: that is insanity. Man's primary fight is with those elements which oppress him as a species and bar his thrust toward high goals."

As I read these books I am once more (and continually) reminded of what a genius L. Ron Hubbard is. (and, by the way, this is the nicest book I've owned. This new edition released by David Miscavige in July along with copies of all the basic Scientology and Dianetics books and lectures from 1948 through 1956, is a delight to read!)

Dianetics Harlem

This article appeared today on CityLimits.org

Seems the news about the new Church of Scientology and Dianetics Center of Harlem is creating a lot of interest, and that's just great!

Dianetics is so effective, and so easy to learn to use, and provides so much help, I am thrilled to see it making it into the New York limelight!

The first thing many subway riders hear as they exit the subway station at 125th Street and Lexington Avenue often is, “Ma’am, do you have stress in your life?”

It's an initial hint of one newer brand of religious outreach that continues on street level – and 125th Street in particular has seen its share of street-corner religion, from mainline Protestant denominations to the Nation of Islam. The latest comer is the Church of Scientology in Harlem, which last week purchased two new properties on the street and is planning a major recruitment drive. The church is significantly enlarging its space and programming – and nearly doubling its office staff, from 43 to about 80. The church’s growth comes at time when real estate pressures have created challenges for some smaller religious institutions, but with support and financial backing from its California base, the Church of Scientology in Harlem is planning to expand.

Scientology is news because it provides so much help. And now more than ever. The Harlem church has a very active Volunteer Ministers program centered around the Scientology Handbook There is a whole new series of courses available at the Harlem church and all Scientology churches that cover the basics of Scientology making it very easy for anyone to learn them and get the help they need in life.

Dianetics and Scientology books and taped lectures. WOW, What an Experience!

I just finished reading the newly released version of Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health today. What a read!

To describe L. Ron Hubbard as a genius is such an understatement. How he broke through the built-in protective mechanisms of the reactive mind to come up with this technology is an adventure story in itself (that's covered in Dianetics: the Evolution of a Science, which is a great read too!)

I learned so much about myself, I hardly know where to start.

It's funny, but as I read along I found myself feeling better and better about myself, and understanding why people react the way they do, recognizing patterns in my own life and in the lives of some of my closest friends, my sisters and my folks.

I started right on the next book (Science of Survival) and found, to my surprise, L. Ron Hubbard was still talking about Dianetics in that book! I hadn't realized it was a Dianetics book too.

I have to say that when I saw the event where David Miscavige released these books and taped lectures I was impressed, but now that I've started studying the materials I can really see why Mr. Miscavige was so excited about what has been done to restore these!

Dianetics!--The release of the Basic Books by L. Ron Hubbard

If you know a Scientologist, chances are you've already heard the buzz. Last month, David Miscavige spoke at an international event which was promoted before hand as an announcement that would change the future for Scientology forever.

May sound a bit dramatic, but when I saw the event I saw exactly why he said this.

Mr. Miscavige announced the completion of a tremendous project, to go back to the original tape recordings from which the basic books of L. Ron Hubbard were transcribed and correct the errors, restore the original edits Mr. Hubbard had made and put out the books in the exact form that LRH had always intended.

He also announced the two new publishing facilities in LA and Copenhagen that makes it possible to produce books on demand, and raises the bar on quality.

Now I've started reading the books and I can see that it is exactly as he stated!

Idi Amin - What Motivates Such a Man?

Congratulations to Forest Whitaker on his Oscar.

What drives a man to the level of cruelty and savagery of Idi Amin? Without an understanding of the Reactive Mind, seeing someone act as he did could confirm one's distrust in his fellow man and make one believe that man's basic nature is evil.

Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health is an important book to read, to understand what drives a man like that.

Great story about the Baton Rouge Mission in the Advocate.com today. Googled it in Google News:

The volunteer ministers the Church of Scientology brings to respond to disasters come out of many walks of life.

Dentists, office managers, roofers and the actress who gives voice to Bart Simpson all donned the church’s bright yellow T-shirts and went to work.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, about 1,000 volunteer ministers from across the United States and Canada came to Louisiana in clusters of about 300 at any given time, church officials said. They worked with other faith groups and the Red Cross to assist and in some cases run the shelters.

While other faith groups that responded — Catholics, Baptists, Methodists — already had a large presence in the Gulf Coast region, the Church of Scientology is relatively small.

However, the visibility and goodwill earned during relief efforts following hurricanes Katrina and Rita created momentum that has helped the church open new missions in the region and see increased interest at the ones it already had.

“We grow as much as we help people,” explained Craig Gehring, an employee at the Church of Scientology’s Mission in Baton Rouge. >>

Dianetics in Africa - Statistics

There's a new Dianetics web site in South Africa to help people in that country and throughout Africa learn about Dianetics and get paired up with someone else who also wants Dianetics and start helping each other, one-on-one.

There are literally millions of Dianetics books in circulation, and I think it's really important that anyone who wants to use Dianetics gets the help they need and gets to get going!

Scientology churches, Scientology missions and Scientology and Dianetics groups offer Dianetics seminars that get the person going right away. Attending a weekend seminar, you can usually set up a "co-audit" (that's the term for two people who help each other back and forth with Dianetics or Scientology counseling. "auditing" is the term for this counseling, as it meanst "to listen" it Latin.)

So - some results:

How has Dianetics technology affected your personality?

76% More understanding
74% More self-confident
73% More extroverted
72% More self-control
69% More easy going
69% More honest

67% More self-respect
65% More outgoing
64% Less critical
64% More patient
61% Better as a friend

Dianetics - an Indian Perspective

There is an interesting article on Dianetics in LifePositive.com.

One of the first Scientologists in India gives his perspective about Dianetics and its relationship to eastern philosophy.

Strange though it may sound, but the logically and empirically sound philosophy of Scientology does share quite a few things with ancient Indian philosophy. According to Ambala-based DR Subhash Sood, one of the earliest Scientologists in India, one major similarity lies in the concept of liberation.

Why Some Memories Hand Around...

Have you ever had a thought you just couldn't shake?

Not a pleasant thought. A bad one.

For example, have you ever continued to be angry or annoyed long after having a fight with someone? Did you ever know that you shouldn't hold a grudge, but you just couldn't seem to let go of it?

The reason for this is all contained in Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health and you can attend a weekend seminar at a Scientology church, mission or group and pair up with someone else who wants to use Dianetics and start chipping away at what is making you react in ways that are just making you unhappy.

Grief Counseling

I have met people who have held onto their grief when a loved one passes away.

A good friend of mine once told me she didn't want Dianetics auditing because she wanted to hold onto her grief.

I can only presume the reason she felt this way was to stay close to the person she just lost. And although it is true that when you are mourning for someone who has died that person does tend to persist in your thoughts on a fairly constant basis.

But what my friend didn't understand is that once you have erased the loss from the Reactive Mind, your memories of your loved one are absolutely still intact, and the spiritual bond you had with the person is absolutely still there. In fact it is stronger than it ever was before.

DIANETICS Defined

Dianetics: comes from the Greek words dia, meaning "through"and nous, meaning "soul." Dianetics is a methodology developed by L. Ron Hubbard which can help alleviate unwanted sensations and emotions, irrational fears and psychosomatic illnesses. It is most accurately described as what the soul is doing to the body through the mind.
From the book What is Scientology?

DIANETICS

Before Dianetics the world did not have a precise and workable means to resolve problems of the mind. Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health was published on May 9, 1950. It was hailed as a breakthrough by Walter Winchell, noted columnist of the New York Daily Mirror "as revolutionary for humanity as the first caveman's discovery and utilization of fire." Harry Wong on Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health

Here's what Doc Wong (Chiropractor, Dr. Harry Wong) says about the Dianetics book:

"I found this book incredibly helpful in explaining what was going on with me and how to improve myself. I read the book and then did some of the techniques and WOW, they work and I love it.

"Over the last several years I can't believe the changes in me, I'm much friendlier, happier and getting on in life so much better. Many old friends are stunned at the improvement in attitude and have told my wife: 'whatever you've done to him, keep it up' :-)"

Dianetcs Success Vidoe

Here's a success story from the Dianetics site.

“Before Dianetics I never knew what a Reactive Mind was. I didn’t know there was an enemy there and that the enemy was in my mind, right here. You know, I was always looking for it outside in other people, you know, my older brother, my wife, my parents, the world and it wasn’t there, you know it was always inside of me.”

How Drugs Affect the Mind

One reason Scientologists are so opposed to drugs is because of the long term and very damaging effects drugs have on the mind.

In the book Clear Body Clear Mind L. Ron Hubbard explains a great deal about how this happens and why it is important to get rid of these toxins.

Below is a photo of a Scientology anti-drug group, the Drug-Free Ambassadors, promoting drug-free living to kids in Australia.

What is Dianetics?

On Scientology Today there is page with
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS MOST COMMONLY ASKED BY MEDIA
on What is Dianetics?

Dianetics spiritual healing technology can help alleviate such ailments as unwanted sensations and emotions, irrational fears and psychosomatic illnesses (illness caused or aggravated by mental stress). The word Dianetics comes from the Greek words dia, meaning through and nous, soul. The full and proper definition of Dianetics is what the soul is doing to the body through the mind.

Before L. Ron Hubbard published the fundamentals of Dianetics in 1950, prevailing scientific thought held that man’s mind was his brain, nothing more than a collection of cells and neurons. IQ was considered unimprovable and personality fixed.

Dianetics technology changed all that. Its effectiveness, astonishing in many cases, has been documented in a multitude of case histories over nearly half a century of application.

Dianetics uncovers the source of unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents, injuries and psychosomatic illnesses, and sets forth effective handlings for these conditions. Further research into the spiritual aspects of Dianetics led to the discovery of Scientology.

Scientology, on the other hand, is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, to universes and to other life. Through the practice of Scientology one can increase his spiritual awareness and ability and realize his own immortality.

Helping Earthquake Victims

Dianetics techniques help the individual overcome trauma.

Scientology Disaster Relief Teams usually provide Dianetics training to help people recover from their experiences.

This story about Yogyakarta on the Scientology News web site is a case in point.

Dianetics

The book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health was the first book I read after being introduced to the Scientology religion. It explained a lot about things in life I had always wanted to know but could never find answers to. Up to that point I was going on a fast downward spiral in life. The knowledge I gained from this book started me back up. It was the first step to a bright future. It is highly recommended.

Insanity

I think it is outrageous how psychiatrists are classifying just about every human reaction or quirk as insanity (disorder, they call it) and "treating" it with drugs.

It is all the more tragic in this day and age where Dianetics can help anyone change their outlook for the better, cease their irrational behavior and life a happy and healthy life.

All you have to do is read the book. You can just grab someone and audit each other back and forth.

And if you want to improve your auditing skill you can take a Dianetics seminar or a professional course in Dianetics auditing at any Scientology mission.

Dramatization

Have you (I'm sure you have) ever seen someone just go off and act out some huge dramatic "thing" that simply was not what was going on at all?

My father used to "pop" from time to time and just GO at us. There was no controling him at all. The only thing to do was stay out of his way until he chilled out on his own.

In Dianetics that is called "dramatization," and LRH discovered what causes it.

It's right there in Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health and is DEFINITELY worth learning about.

Dianetics technology is life-saving. The only thing that holds a person back from happiness, success and achieving goals is the reactive mind. The book Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health describes what the reactive mind is and what to do about it. It is vital data for everyone.

Dianetics Co-Audit

A co-audit is when people team up and audit one another. Auditing is Scientology or Dianetics counseling.

It is actually very simple to start helping someone with Dianetics.

Believe it or not, you can go to a seminar or workshop, get a simple grounding in basic Dianetics principles and techniques and start helping someone else and getting help yourself in a few hours.

There is a lot more to it than that, but the thing with Dianetics is that you can START almost right away.

In fact I've heard stories of people who didn't even have the benefit of any training except for reading the book and they've done fine as Dianetics auditors.

I have a friend, as a matter of fact, who is from Russia. Her family got hold of a copy of one of the first Russian editions of the book and several of them read it and started auditing the rest of the family. They clocked hundreds of hours on one another to the great benefit of all concerned!

Dianetics Results

I have experienced Dianetics results personally. I achieved a level of happiness and rationality to an extent I previously would not have thought possible. As an additional bonus, physical problems that were causing me much pain and discomfort disappeared. It is a truly amazing and effective technology. My introduction to the subject was the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. I highly recommend reading and applying this book.

Book-a-Thon Reminder

Just a reminder to any Scientologists reading my blog.

This weekend is the International Book-a-Thon.

Every org, mission and group in the world is participating, to give Stress Tests and sell Dianetics books.

We want to get 100,000 sold in one weekend!

Personally, I find it so grafitying to help someone pinpoint what is causing him/her stress and getting Dianetics into their hands as the way to really get to the root of the problem.

Technology

The definition of technology is: the methods of application of an art or science as opposed to mere knowledge of the science or art itself.

Dianetics spiritual healing technology addresses and handles the effects of the spirit on the body and can alleviate such things as unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents, injuries and psychosomatic illnesses (ones that are caused or aggravated by mental stress). Dianetics means “through the soul” (from Greek dia, through, and nous, soul). It is further defined as “what the soul is doing to the body.”

Book One

Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health is sometimes referred to by Scientologists as "Book 1."

Not only did it start the whole movement, it was the first formally published book on Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard (he wrote to before this one, but one wasn't published till afterwards, and the other was published in a magazine before it was publishes as a book).

It is also the text that gives the information anyone needs to study to fully understand the mind and to be able to apply Dianetics techniques to help someone.

Scientology missions and churches offer Dianetics Seminars that have audio visual presentations that help the person new to the subject grasp the basic principles so they can start to use the techniques right away.

International Day of Peace

In honor of the International Day of Peace, I post this section of the Dianetics web site, which quotes L. Ron Hubbard on the subject:

Can a nation obtain peace by waging war?

According to a recent Gallup poll, concerns about war is one of the most important problems in the world today.

When Dianetics was written in 1950, the world was still recovering from WW II and the Korean War was about to begin. Then, like now, the world was unstable. Then, as now, people were asking why can’t we live in harmony?

In his research, L. Ron Hubbard found that states and nations behave and react just as individuals do. The conflicts of society at large — and war itself — are ultimately the result of personal aberration. And ultimately, the way to solve the world’s problems is to bring harmony and happiness to the individual. If that were possible, one by one, we would make a better world.

And that’s what Dianetics is doing, and succeeding at, with every passing day. As L. Ron Hubbard explained in the final chapter of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health:

“Dianetics addresses war because there is in fact a race between the science of mind and the atom bomb. There may be no future generation to know which won.

Rationality alone can guide man past these threats to his extinction.”

Grief

Have you even seen the effects of the loss of a husband, wife, child or close friend on another. Have you noticed that their lives deteriorated -- that they never were quite the same -- that they couldn't seem to get over it....

Many people can spot that their lives started to deteriorate when they suffered a terrible loss.

Even if not a death - the loss of a job, of an opportunity -- for an athlete, the point when he suffered an injury that took him out of the game for good.

This is so much the case that there are whole philosophies based on fatalism - movies that promote that that's the way it is...

But with Dianetics auditing it does not have to be that way.

For someone who has lost someone very dear to them, Dianetics auditing will not bring that person back. Nothing will. But Dianetics technology can help the individual erase the pain and grief. And then what is left is the memories of a wonderful person, and all the great times you had with them, without the overwhelming loss.

Apathy

Have you ever met someone who was apathetic.

Or worse, have you ever felt that way yourself?

The definition of apathy in the Scientology glossary is:

"A complete withdrawal from person or people. There is no real attempt to contact oneself and no attempt to contact others. A very docile and obedient, if sick, state of not-beingness. It is near death or an imitation of death. For example, a person in apathy would say, 'What’s the use? All is lost.'"

I had a friend in college who was like that. No matter what the subject, she was certain that it wasn't worth trying -- she'd never make it, no one would listen to her, she wouldn't make friends there, she wouldn't be able to pass the course... and on and on.

She didn't have many friends, because no one could bear to be around her.

And everything she tried turned to ruin.

I was very frustrated at the time because I really liked her and I simply couldn't help her.

Ultimately, I gave up. And now I can't ever remember her name. But I certainly remember her.

Now, if I were to see her and she were still apathetic, I'd know that the best thing I could do would be to give her Self Analsysis auditing to help her raise her emotional tone level and then I'd follow it up with Dianetics auditing to get to the root of what caused her to utterly lose her self esteem.

It is actually remarkable what Scientology and Dianetics auditing can do.

Dianetics in Java

A great story today on the Scientology Press Office web site on Scientologists who are helping the people of Java.

I had no idea how volatile Indonesia is. It's the 4th most populous country on Earth, and yet it is subject to earthquakes, floods, volcanoes and tsunamis all the time.

I love to see the work the Scientology Disaster Relief Team is doing, using Scientology and Dianetics technology.

Can Dianetics Technology Help Me Overcome Feelings of Grief and Loss?

Yes.

The source of any negative emotion, attitude or feeling is fully revealed in Dianetics. The causes of a person’s feelings of grief or loss are buried in the person’s reactive mind, able to influence and control the person.

Dianetics technology guides a person through his or her reactive mind to locate — and permanently eradicate — the actual source of the upset. With the cause of the upset handled, the person is once more able to live a happy, healthy life.

What is the Significance of the Dianetics Symbol?

The Dianetics symbol uses the Greek letter Delta as its basic form. The stripes are green for growth and yellow for life. The four green stripes represent the four subdivisions of life which are delineated in Dianetics.

What Can Dianetics tell me about the mind?

The mind is basically a communication and control system between the person and his environment. It is composed of mental image pictures, which are recordings of past experiences.

The individual uses his mind to pose and solve problems related to survival and to direct his efforts according to these solutions.

The reactive mind is the portion of a person’s mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under his volitional (willing) control, and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.

Where unwanted emotions come from — anger, jealousy, guilt, fear.

The Dianetics site has this message:

image

For as long as man has walked the Earth, he has looked earnestly for happiness....

....dramatic results from Dianetics can begin right away since one is actually handling the SOURCE of his or her problems. Such results go far beyond anything produced by older subjects or means.

In a recent survey of Dianetics users, they reported that using Dianetics technology had reduced their stress by 46%, cut down their level of anxiety by 55%, and slashed depression by 72%. While 92% of those surveyed said Dianetics had improved their relationships.

Dianetics is All Over the Place

Dianetics groups are springing up all over the place. I saw in the Sacramento Bee that there is a group in a little place called Elk Grove. Dianetics has been very popular ever since the book was written in 1950 and it just hasn't stopped being an extremely popular book. People usually get the book and then find a friend and counsel each other using it. I have personallyheard of amazing gains. The Dianetics website gives specifics.

Stress Takes its Toll

According to the Daily India The Centers for Disease Control estimates that 75-90% of all doctor visits are stress-related. It's important to find a healthy way to deal with stress.

Say, what? That's outrageous.

Billions of dollars get spent every year on medical bills and prescriptions just to handle these stress-related physical problems.

But stress is obviously a spiritual problem. It is how the being (the person himself) reacts to the difficulties he/she encouters in life.

According to the Dianetics and Scientology dictionary, Dianetics spiritual healing technology... addresses and handles the effects of the spirit on the body and can alleviate such things as unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents, injuries and psychosomatic illnesses (ones that are caused or aggravated by mental stress). Dianetics means “through the soul” (from Greek dia, through, and nous, soul). It is further defined as “what the soul is doing to the body.”

The results of Dianetics counseling are spectacular, and even more so when you realize that anyone who wants to benefit from it is welcome to come for a Dianetics seminar at a Scientology church or mission.

A Dianetics Success

I had to post this - it is very cool how Dianetics counseling helped this person.

"My well-being has returned with Dianetics.

“I had tremendous weight loss — extreme fatigue, just getting up and doing my basic routine was almost more than I could do. I was losing most of my hair, I suffered from horrible headaches, and I just was dying basically. I was going from doctor to doctor, and they basically said ‘There’s not a lot we can do for you, we really don’t know why your body's doing what it's doing... you're probably going to die.’

“I was devastated, I was a young woman, I had my youngest son getting ready to get married and I might not have been a part of it.

“One of my son's friends introduced me to Dianetics. We had just three sessions and totally handled the problem. I began to get healthy again, I began to stop losing my hair, my weight started to come back on and the headaches are gone. Dianetics, to me personally, saved my life. I know that without it, I wouldn't be here.”

Dianetics 55!

There's a book titled Dianetics 55! which is L. Ron Hubbard's basic discoveries on communication. He actually found a formula for communication. It's so brilliant. So effective.

It's skills that will help anyone who needs to be able to relate to people.

Dianetics Trademarks

I thought I'd include an article that explains more about Dianetics trademarks:

"The philosophy and technologies of Dianetics and Scientology were discovered and developed solely by L. Ron Hubbard. It is a fundamental belief of Scientologists that, if the technologies are applied exactly as he recorded them in Scientology scripture, they are universally workable and will improve conditions and result in greater spiritual awareness and ability for everyone.

"For this reason, Scientologists emphasize the orthodox and standard application of the Scientology scripture. Thus, Scientologists never interpret scripture for each other but always refer to the original source materials. A Course Supervisor in a Scientology church is not a teacher in that he does not lecture or give his own opinions because to do so, even if well-intentioned, would inevitably enter alterations, even if slight, into the technologies which would lessen their effectiveness. This alteration could accumulate over time to the point where Scientologists could never achieve the full spiritual benefits of the religion.

"For these reasons the Church and its members want, above all else, to preserve and apply the Scriptures exactly as set forth by Mr. Hubbard.

"Earlier, L. Ron Hubbard personally supervised the practice of the religion, and he also registered as marks many of the religion’s identifying words and symbols, such as “Dianetics” and “Scientology.” These registered marks provided a legal mechanism for ensuring that the Scientology religious technologies were orthodox and ministered according to the scriptures. They also provide a legal mechanism to prevent anyone from practicing in a non-orthodox manner or engaging in some distorted use of L. Ron Hubbard’s writings, while then claiming it is standard Dianetics or Scientology.

"In 1982, Mr. Hubbard donated these marks to the Religious Technology Center (RTC), and entrusted it with the responsibility to protect the religion by enforcing orthodox application of his Scientology technologies, and to protect the public by ensuring that only authorized church organizations used the identifying religious marks.

"Thus, while Church of Scientology International serves as the mother church and is responsible for the overall ecclesiastical management, dissemination and propagation of Scientology and the various churches of Scientology, Religious Technology Center serves as protector of the religion. While each Scientology organization and, indeed, every Scientologist is expected to enforce the standard application of scriptures, RTC is the final arbiter of orthodoxy.

"RTC is not part of the management structure of the Church and is not involved in its day-to-day affairs. A major reason for having the marks held by a separate Scientology organization is so that it is removed from the daily exigencies of management and so can more effectively perform its functions.

"RTC has an ongoing program to register its religious marks in many countries around the world -- even those that do not yet have a Scientology organization. Doing so ensures that the religious marks will not be usurped in those countries and that their citizens will know that they are receiving orthodox Dianetics and Scientology religious services when a Scientology organization is formed in their area.

"To ensure the purity of the religion and its Scriptures, RTC supervised a massive five-year project, only recently completed, to republish all of L. Ron Hubbard’s writings on Dianetics and Scientology. RTC ensured that the authenticity of each work was verified by comparing them word by word with his original manuscripts -- only once RTC was satisfied that the works were accurate were they republished. RTC then helped see that archival editions of these materials were produced, thus ensuring the availability of the pure unadulterated writings of Mr. Hubbard to the coming generations. As part of this project, Mr. Hubbard’s original tape-recorded lectures -- most of them over three decades old -- were restored using state-of-the art technology, and then accurately transcribed. Even the translations of the Scripture are scrupulously checked for accuracy by RTC prior to any publication.

"RTC has many other activities, all of which add up to performing its basic ecclesiastical functions: ensuring that what is represented as Dianetics or Scientology is genuinely so; protecting the general public by not allowing any organization or individual to do something entirely different while using the religious marks to misrepresent itself as Dianetics or Scientology; and not allowing any individual or organization to deliver Dianetics or Scientology while calling it something else. Any misuse or unauthorized use of the Scientology religious marks is rapidly corrected by RTC so that the religion is kept pure and all people may benefit from the application of Mr. Hubbard’s Scientology technologies.

"Mr. David Miscavige has served as RTC’s Chairman of the Board, its most senior position, since 1987. Mr. David Miscavige is uniquely qualified for this position. An active Scientologist for most of his life, he has been involved with nearly every aspect of the Church’s activities for many years and worked closely with Mr. Hubbard. Mr. David Miscavige has worked tirelessly to protect the religion. He authored the early 1980s reorganization of Church corporate and management structures which have given the religion years of sustained growth and stable leadership. "

Self Esteem.

In the course of living people make mistakes, do things they aren't proud of and often, somewhere along the line, stop feeling like they can fully trust themselves.

One of the most remarkable thing about Dianetics technology is now simple it is to get to the underlying cause of this change in self esteem and gain back personal trust.

And it is really simple to do.

Stress

According to a recent survey 43 percent of Americans say they suffer from the adverse affects of stress.

Did you know that most people find some relief from stress from their first Dianetics session?

Scientology churches and missions provide Dianetics seminars where persons attending get paired with others and they help each other with Dianetics techniques, under the supervision of trained staff.

In the course of a weekend or a few week nights most students can learn enough of the technique to help their partner. It is very simple to learn.

Here's just one example of what people get out of Dianetics:

"Before Dianetics I never knew what a Reactive Mind was. I didn’t know there was an enemy there and that the enemy was in my mind, right here. You know, I was always looking for it outside in other people, you know, my older brother, my wife, my parents, the world and it wasn’t there, you know it was always inside of me"

Dianetics Definitions

I recently re-read Dianetics: the Evolution of a Science, which L. Ron Hubbard wrote in 1950. It's a brilliant acount of an amazing journey of discovery. Mr. Hubbard describes in this book exactly how he discovered and codified the basic techniques of Dianetics, which he then presented in the book Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health.

The book contains a very extensive glossary of terms, necessary because what L. Ron Hubbard discovered about the mind is actually new and so required terms to name them.

There is also a good glossary of Scientology and Dianetics terms online.

For an interesting view of Dianetics, from the Indian perspective, there is a good site: Lifepositive Scientology and Dianetics.

And for an excellent overview on where the Scientology religion stands at the beginning of the 21st Century I recommend reading the transcript of the David Miscavige speech called This is Scientology or better yet purchasing a copy of the actual speech in DVD form online or at a Scientology church (really worth doing because Mr. Miscavige is such an excellent speaker).

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Here's a story a friend of mine shared with me:

I first read the book Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health in 1970.

I was really unhappy at the time. I was in a bad relationship and my self-respect was at an all-time low.

A friend of mine gave me his copy of the Dianetics book and told me that this was exactly what I needed.

I hoped he was right.

I started reading and thought it was "interesting." Then at some point, a few chapters into the book it was like I was jolted awake! I got the concept of what L. Ron Hubbard was describing about the mind, and just knew it was true.

Suddenly, so much about my life made sense.

That was a turning point in my life. From that point on things got better and better for me, and I've never looked back.

Scientology Missions International web site had this story:

Executives of the Church of Scientology Mission in Modena, Italy recently started a game to get hundreds of Scientologists in their community trained up on the techniques to deliver Dianetics auditing to thousands of others in their community and thereby help them change their lives for the better by ridding themselves of their reactive mind.

Through a step-by-step plan of promoting in their city, holding seminars & workshops and airing TV shows on the miracles of Dianetics, the Modena Mission staff have already, in just a matter of months, trained over 225 people on how to deliver the techniques of Dianetics to others.

The reason I was delighted to read this is because Modena has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. I fell in love with the city when I was last there. And I had the great good fortune of meeting some of the Scientologists from the Modena Mission. They were absolutely wonderful.

Sorry if I go on about them, but I will always remember their hospitality and warmth.

Dianetics Book Review

I thought this book review for Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health was worth passing on. It was written by someone named R. Lorenzen.

I loved "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health". It is very much a manual of the mind. Most other books on the subject that I've read are just theories and are not really workable. I have tried the techniques as descibed in this book and loved the results! I have worked these techniques on others (what an adventure!) and had them worked on me. Smiles, laughter and happiness all around.

I would highly recommend anyone to read this book whether you think you have problems or not. There are people around you who do and these CAN be handled with these Dianetics techniques. I know; I've seen it. Also, it tells you why people do the things they do -- you know... those odd and bizarre things that keep you wondering about someone.

My recommendation? Read it and try it out.

Life Positive of India Talks about Dianetics

This article describes the research L. Ron Hubbard did into Dianetics as follows: "The seeds of Dianetics were planted in the mind of its creator, explorer-thinker-author L. Ron Hubbard, by a series of cytological experiments he conducted in 1937. These experiments demonstrated that the urge to survive overrode every other possible life-enhancing drive, and was actually an inherited urge that remained potent even as a learned response.

"This apparently academic discovery put a whole new spin to the then current (and still fairly popular) theory that life is nothing more than a game of chance. Unlike Darwin's theory of evolution, which gave importance to survival only to the extent of natural selection, Hubbard postulated that the command to survive comes from an 'intelligence' behind the scheme of life. In his work Excalibur, often considered the precursor to Dianetics, Hubbard writes: 'All life is directed by one command and one command only—SURVIVE!'"

Dianetics Seminars in Java

Dianetics seminars are being delivered to people in Java to help them come to grips with what they experienced through the earthquake at the end of May.

It is pretty shocking when you realize that this was a 6.2 magnitude quake. A similar quake in Los Angeles resulted in practically no deaths compared to the nearly 6,000 deaths in this region of Indonesia. Sure, some houses were destroyed, but the destruction in Java is hard to conceive.

I was so happy to hear that the Scientology Volunteer Ministers that flew to Java to help are not getting Dianetics technology delivered in the form of seminars.

To live through such a catastrophe must be so devastating. Dianetics technology can really help.
